• Introduction

    • This module is a basic introduction into digitalisation for the cultural sector. Many skills covered in this module represent necessary digital skills that, although omnipresent among people, are also sometimes missing among disadvantaged youth. This module will cover spreadsheet processing that is essential for data management. As an essential pillar of digitalisation in the cultural sector, the module will further elaborate on scanning image and text documents, as well as basics of audio-video processing, that is needed for cultural production and presentation. As an essential part of the dissemination of cultural product and services module introduces the learner with the basic of cloud computing skills and finalised with information on how to access digital main cultural databases in Europe. This module is a walkthrough helping the reader understand the basic concept of what Cloud Computing is about. The module proceeds with the access to digital cultural databases introducing the reader to what digital culture and heritage are and presents related concepts like that of Digital Preservation.
