• Introduction

    • The module is divided into six chapters; each chapter cascaded into sub-chapters for enabling easier learning. This module is a walkthrough helping the learner with the basics of evaluating news, information and evaluating the source of information, but also aware him or her about the fake news. Finally, in Managing professional digital identity, there is an introduction on what is a professional digital identity and why do we need positive digital identities and closes with some guidelines to improve learner’s professional digital identity. Further on, the module takes us through the significance of promotion, web marketing, social media management and basic financial skills and crowdsourcing to enrich our overall knowledge of different segments of cultural heritage management.

      Upon completion of the module, the learner should be able to:

      • identify important principles to define and evaluate the news and information to use on products and services of their organisation.
      • understand the importance of the professional digital identity and be able to develop his or her own professional digital identity by using the tools and knowledge he or she gained.
      • become affiliated with the important aspects of the use of a native language online and the impact on the promotion of national culture, the arts, values and customs, web marketing and social media management.

      Cultural heritage management is a broad field, composed of numerous layers devoted to presenting a well-balanced relationship between the tourism industry and the heritage sites, their cultural, historical and values. This module, nonetheless, focuses more on the online aspects of cultural heritage management, aiming to bring the learner closer to the quality management of heritage as an indispensable part of a quality promotion and cultural identity.
