• Introduction

    • This module includes practical and useful information for the learner on the use of immersive technologies such as Virtual Reality, Augmented Reality, and Mixed Reality with specific examples from their application in various industries and the cultural sector in specific. In the module's second chapter, learners learn about 3D Printing technologies and their use and application, the way they work, and their benefits, and their main components. This module is a walkthrough helping the reader understand the basic concept of what networking in computers is, and what Cyber Security is about. The module proceeds with Big Data analysis and machine learning , introducing the reader to what big data is and discusses the contemporary profession of a data scientist. Finally, in Mobile Application Creation , an introduction on the different ways of creating an app for different operating systems is created, and a simple guide is presented that assists the learning in understanding how to create their own app. The module ends up with an introduction to geographic information systems (GIS), geovisualisationand location-based services.
